#grub> ls

result will be similar as shown below

(hd0), (hd0,msdos1),(hd0,msdos2),(hd0,msdos2),(hd0,msdos3)

Step 2: check on which partition file system exist

#ls (hd0, msdos1)

if it found file system it will show result

ext4: file system 

otherwise it will show error

no file system found

check all partition until we find file system 

Step 3: set the boot on that partition

grub>set boot=(hd0,msdos1)

OR

grub>set root=(hda0,msdos1)

Step 4: Set prefix

grub> set prefix=(hd0,msdos1)/boot/grub

OR

grub> set prefix=(hd0,msdos2)/boot/grub/

Step 5: insmod normal

grub>insmod normal
grub>normal

if i386-pc file not found on this path

(ls (hd0,msdos2)/boot/grub/   

then we have to copy from   

(hd0,msdos2)/usr/bin/grub/
